RASSVET08 - Spring-Summer 2021
Inspired by the 80’s hardcore scene and vintage athletic aesthetics. West coast hardcore skate culture began in the 80’s in California before taking on the world and especially Russia until the early 00’s. Rassvet’s heritage is deeply rooted in this movement and the atmosphere of that period. They decided to reflect on those hazy glorious punk rock days.
COLLABORATIONS: Ricardo Fumanal
Ricardo Fumanal is a Spanish artist and illustrator currently living in Paris.
His unapologetically pop-inflicted creations are subversive in multiple ways, from their comment on classical shading and airbrushing techniques to absurd plays on proportions and a healthy dose of tongue-in-cheek humor and sex.
For this collection, Ricardo Fumanal created three original artworks. The creative process was defined by a lot of discussions, exploring references and slowly amending and refining them.
Ricardo Fumanal sees the work as a playful remix of American iconography with allusions to the impact of the Soviet Union on Gosha.
